Cubs Suck!

Kudos to whoever the hell braved the cold early this morning to carve out the following message in the snow at Ballpark Village. I mean, it’s obviously nothing we all don’t already know, but it’s good to remind folks once in a while, ya know, lest they forget.

What is the RNR Craft show?

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Craft Show is the original alternative craft and music event in St. Louis! Since 2005, the organizers of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Craft Show have been gathering the craftiest artists and the rockinest musicians for one great weekend-long event!

The RRCS Mission:

RRCS dedicates itself to showcasing unique, usable items handcrafted from new and recycled materials; these items, including furniture, clothing, jewelry, musical instruments, glassware, magnets, knitware, fine art, etc., are the original creations of local and national crafters and won’t be found at traditional shopping venues! The organizers of RRCS are committed to giving all crafters—from the nascent gluer to the established professional crafter—an opportunity to show their wares and make a living at creating! RRCS is also a strong supporter of reusing and recycling; a majority of the items we include in our event are crafted from pre-used/owned materials.

Saint Louis Flyer Project

Greg “Frog” Kessler and I have started what we’re calling the Saint Louis Flyer Project, in which we’re trying to collect as many “vintage” St. Louis-area punk/wave/hardcore and underground/alternative rock flyers from the mid-1970s through the mid-’90s as we can for a new Flickr group. We’re only really interested in actual scans of authentic, old-school paper flyers, no Web flyers made with Photoshop or Illustrator. We just feel there are probably a lot of these things stashed away in boxes in people’s attics or basements these days, and it’d be great to get them out, dust them off and let them live again now on the Web. So please contribute to our collection if you have anything worth sharing (and if you don’t have a scanner and aren’t afraid to let one of us borrow your collection for a week or two, please get in touch and we’ll gladly scan them for you). Thanks!
