Change the City Flag? WTF?

There’s certainly going to be TROUBLE in River City if Mayor Slay messes with our flag!

St. Louis City FlagOur esteemed mayor has a flag poll up his butt, er, I mean, on his website this week, as he does every week, but this week’s happens to deal with flags. Now, normally, I’m not much of a flag waver (the only American flag we have hanging in our house is one of those hippy kinds with the stars in the shape of a peace sign), but I’ve always loved the St. Louis City flag and have one at home and also have it as a patch on my jacket. It rocks! And it appears from reading over the mayor’s new poll that the City is considering a redesign of this classic flag, which (according to a recent survey) just so happens to be one of the top five city flags in the entire USA. It’s perfect as it is! Why change it? Besides, shouldn’t the mayor have more important issues to deal with than changing the city flag? There are a lot of problems with our city, the least of which would be the design of our flag. That’s just my two cents, of course.

Anyway, here’s the direct link to the poll. Please vote!

The good news is, as I understand those polls are usually full of shit and are just utilized to “get people talking” about issues in our lives. But if they are actually considering it, they are out of their god. damn. minds. And the 24% that actually said yes to such a preposterous idea (and decided the Arch should be on it)…those people should be beaten Full Metal Jacket style…with a bar of soap in the good ole STL flag.

Yep! Just another stupid idea from your Mayor. He just wants to leave his name stamped on everything and every issue whether the people back him or not. Slay serves his upper class big business buddies and kicks the civil & social structure of the city in the nuts when he can’t fight like a man. St. Louis politics and the voting body in general is very sad and sick with both sides very far apart on all issues and not willing to negotiate at all.
My favorite (your) Mayor Slay stunt of late has been denying the proclamation of “Ike Turner Day” during the upcoming Big Muddy Bluesfest. I can’t side with Ike on beating Tina regularly… and I didn’t read the book. It’s not fair to hold that against him after all these years after he has turned his life around.
I like living in Overland, MO… our Mayor tried some shit and we threw the bitch out!!!
WITH A VOTE rather than protesting inside of public offices and getting thrown in jail!!!

I think I got my city flag patch from Steve Smith at The Royale. They were made, though, by Jason Toon of Must Rock/Geeklife: http://www.mustrock.com/
